Date: June 2, 2006
Subject: ReEntry Tags

St. Johns County Emergency Management and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the City of St. Augustine, City of St. Augustine Beach and the St. Johns County Tax Collector’s Office will be issuing a re-entry hanger tag system to better facilitate residents returning to the beaches after an evacuation. The hanger tags will be issued to residents / businesses east of the Intercoastal Waterway. If you picked up your tag last year, they do not expire and are still valid.

The system has been designed with two hanger tags: Green for residents, orange for businesses. Residents are encouraged to place the hanger tag in their vehicle’s glove box for easy access in an evacuation event.

Guidelines for Issuance of Evacuation ReEntry Passes

1. The issuing location will require proof of residency (driver’s license, vehicle registration, utility bill) or proof of business location (occupation license).
2. Residents will be issued one reentry tag (green) for each registered vehicle.
3. Two business reentry tags (orange) will be issued per business.
